Barbara Joyce Miller passed from this life on Earth to her eternal life in Heaven on March 24, 2019. Barbara was born on February 9, 1935 to John and Hazel (Cummings) Troyer in Harper, Kansas.
She graduated from Attica High School with the class of 1953. On November 3, 1957, Barbara was united in marriage with Jerry Wayne Miller in Anthony, Kansas. This union was blessed with two daughters, Kim and Jana.
During her life she filled many shoes: Wife, Mother, homemaker, cook, field hand, and many others. There were even some jobs for which she was paid. Many local businesses and firms would just call her when they needed extra help, and she was always ready to step in. After a long day at work, she would still come home and start her favorite job, taking care of her family.
Barbara was raised in the Mennonite church and then joined the Methodist church when she married. She adjusted to the change and being Methodist became her way of life. She was very involved in the service of the church, filling many jobs. Her favorite though was playing the piano for services, which she did for many, many years.
I think if you asked her what her greatest accomplishment was, her answer would be the raising and caring of her family. She had great pride in all of them and they were her greatest joy.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, John and Hazel Troyer; her husband, Jerry who passed away on April 11, 2015; and a brother-in-law, Haynes Miller. She is survived by her sister, Virginia Newberry and her husband, Richard of Catoosa, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, David Miller and his wife, Ronda of Attica, Kansas; sister-in-law, Frankie Miller of Kiowa, Kansas; daughters: Kim Naccarato and her husband, Vince of Hutchinson, Kansas, Jana Wedman and her husband, Jeff of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Laura Livengood (whom Mom loved as her own) of Harper; grandchildren: Wesley Wedman and his wife, Becky of Shawnee, Kansas, Tyler Wedman and Jenni Hatley of Edmond, Oklahoma, Chris Dolley and his wife, Tarika of Lebo, Kansas, and Erica Naccarato of Hutchinson; great-grandchildren: Oliver and Penelope Wedman and Lowyn, Clara, and Laney Dolley; two nieces and one nephew; other relatives and many friends.
