Delores Marie (Davis) McDaniel passed away on February 2, 2019 at 88 years of age. She was born on January 10, 1931 to Hattie (Cox) Davis and Henry Davis in Norton County, Kansas. She moved from Norton County to Attica, Kansas and graduated from Attica High School with the class of 1948.
On October 2, 1948, Delores married Bobby Harris McDaniel at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Attica. She lived west of Attica until 2018 when she moved to Texas to be closer to family. Delores worked with Bob on the farm until they retired in 2007. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Niemann’s Furniture and had a bookkeeping and tax return preparation business in her home.
Delores loved to read and quilt. She made quilts for her grandkids and great-grandkids as well as numerous others. She treasured time spent with her family and was a member of the Attica Christian Church.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Bob in 2016; her son, Dennis McDaniel in 2014; her parents; her sisters: Lorraine Wolfe, Louise Applegate, Iola Dupuy, and Corrinne Caples; and her brothers: Harvey, Richard, and Orland Davis. She is survived by her son, Delbert McDaniel and his wife, Cathy of Weatherford, Texas; daughter, Cindy Arnoldy and her husband, Daniel of Sanger, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Karen McDaniel of Wellfleet, Nebraska; grandchildren: Christie Fallin and her husband, Rich, Brad McDaniel and his wife, Valerie, Laurie Patton and her husband, Mark, David Arnoldy and his wife, Skylar, Clent McDaniel, Diana May, and Rachel Mandelko and her husband, Paul; great-grandchildren: Trevor Bebermeyer and his wife, Katherine, Chance Bebermeyer and his fiancé, Amber Siscoe, Maddie Higgins and her husband, Tyler, Brenner McDaniel, Teagan McDaniel, Hannah Patton, Mae Mandelko, and Marshal Mandelko; great-great grandchildren, Connor and Emma Higgins; sisters, Betty Totten Kenrohan and Pauline Hacker; a host of other relatives, and friends.
Friends may view and register 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Family will be present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Attica Christian Church with Pastor Ed Hughlett officiating. Interment will follow at the Attica Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Christian Church or Attica City Library and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
