Helen K. Blubaugh 1928 ~ 2019

Helen Koehler Blubaugh, daughter of John and Abbie (Feist) Koehler, was born on January 12, 1928 in Manchester, Oklahoma.  She passed away on March 1, 2019 at the age of 91.

On April, 9, 1947, Helen and B. Leon Blubaugh were united in marriage in the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, south of Manchester.  This union was blessed with seven children: Mike, Michelle, Carol, Chris, Joe, Pat, and Jane Elizabeth, who died in infancy.  They began their married life on a farm north of Medford, Oklahoma.  After farming for 8 years, Helen and Leon moved to Red Rock, Oklahoma for a year before moving to Danville, Kansas in 1957.  They celebrated 68 years of marriage before Leon’s passing in 2015.

Helen was a loving mother and homemaker who was devoted to her family.  She was a faithful and active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Danville, of the St. Joan of Arc Parish Community and served on the Altar Society.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Leon; daughters, Carol Bergman and Jane Blubaugh; four brothers: Sylvester, Alfred, Thomas, and Harold; and two sisters, Dortha Johnson and Alice Collins.  Helen will be dearly missed by her children: Mike Blubaugh and wife, Barb of Buckeye, Arizona, Michelle King and husband, Jerry of Peck, Kansas, Chris Blubaugh and wife, Kathy of Caldwell, Kansas, Joe Blubaugh and wife, Paula of Medford, Oklahoma, and Pat Blubaugh and wife, Michelle of Inyokern, California; son in law, Kenny Bergman of Harper, Kansas; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob Koehler and wife, Joyce of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Cleo Koehler and wife, Roberta of Wellington, Kansas; other relatives and friends.

Recitation of the Rosary was 7:00 p.m. Friday and Mass of the Christian Burial was 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Danville, of the St. Joan of Arc Parish Community with Father Bob Pinninti officiating.  Interment followed at the Fairview Cemetery, south of Danville.
