Jeffery Todd Bazer was born July 12, 1967 in Freemont, Nebraska, son of James Bazer Sr. and Mary (Moler) Bazer. He spent the first ten years of his childhood in Nebraska, before the family moved to Anthony, Kansas.
Growing up Jeff loved going to work with his dad who was a jockey. He quickly became passionate about horses, horse training and races. He started his own career as a horse trainer at Anthony Downs. He traveled many miles to train in Nebraska, Oklahoma and Arkansas to name a few.
Jeff married Amy Spade and this union was blessed with two children, Ashlee and Justin. During their marriage they lived in Stillwater, Oklahoma where Jeff worked for Mercury building boat motors.
After returning to Anthony, Jeff went back to work horse training and also worked at Monfort Food Service and as a farm hand. In 1997, Jeff was blessed with his youngest daughter, Cheri.
Jeff enjoyed a good BBQ, relaxing, fishing, playing bingo and watching football or horse racing.
On September 3, 2019, Jeff passed away unexpectedly at the age of 52 years. He was preceded in death by his father.
Jeff will be deeply missed by his mother, Mary Bazer; companion, Nancy Whitney; siblings: Cliff Bazer (Norma), Jeanie Bazer, James Bazer Jr. (Pamela), and Carla Bazer (Alberto); children: Ashlee Dryden, Justin Bazer, and Cheri McCammon; several nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
Celebration of Life was held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony. Musical selections "Mama Tried," "Brotherly Love," and "One Friend" were played. Inurnment followed at Spring Grove Cemetery.
Memorials in memory of Jeff may be made to the Jeff Bazer Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
