Joan Katherine (Cink) Dierksen-Pentz went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2019. Joan was the oldest born on the family farm near Manchester, OK to Louis Cink, Sr. and Otilda (Conrady) Cink on April 19,1934. She graduated from Wakita High School in 1952 and went on to obtain her Business Degree from Phillips University in Enid, OK. On April 6, 1957 Joan and Gordon Dierksen were united in marriage in Enid, OK. With this marriage they were blessed with three sons: Timothy, Chris, and Todd. In 1968, Joan and Gordon moved to a farm outside of Freeport, KS. On June 26, 1981 Gordon unexpectedly passed away. Joan started working at the Harper County Health Department in 1984 where she eventually retired. Joan married Glenn Pentz on November 10, 1985 in Anthony, KS. and she moved to Kiowa, KS. Joan and Glenn loved to travel especially to Branson, MI and to as many of their grandchildren’s school functions they could attend. Joan was very active in the Methodist Church in Kiowa. She also loved to bake, had a love for music and was an amazing organist. Joan loved to dance and loved to play cards. Joan never missed and episode of Lawrence Welk and if you were at her house on a Saturday night, you were watching it with her. Joan loved her family and loved spending time with them. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Joan’s memory lives on in her sons: Tim (Ginger) Dierksen of Medicine Lodge, KS, Chris (Stacy) Dierksen, of Wellington, KS, Todd Dierksen of Prescott, KS. Grandchildren: Darryl Dierksen of Wichita, KS, Keena (Cody) Davis of Wichita, KS, Weston (Chelsea) Dierksen of Medicine Lodge, KS, Alicia (Ross) Bringer of Wellington, KS, Dean (Felicia) Dierksen of Manhattan, KS, Clayton Dierksen of Overland Park, KS, and Stephanie (Evan) Voth of Bend, OR. And great-grandchildren: Landan Campbell, Wyatt Bringer, Taylor Rayburn, Caylee Bringer, Jaxon Dierksen, Matthew Voth, Addison Voth, and Blake Dierksen. And many more extended family members. Joan is proceeded in death by her parents, sister, Delores Mattingly, and brothers: Louis Cink and JC Cink, and both of her loving husbands: Gordon Dierksen and Glenn Pentz.
Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony, Kansas with Chaplain Layton Hein officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Bluff City, Kansas.
Visitation and Viewing will be held 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday with the family present from 5-7 p.m.
Memorials in memory of Joan may be made to Harper County 4-H and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
