Kenney E. Caviness 1944 ~ 2020

    Kenney Eugene Caviness was born April 23, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas, son of Floyd and Maxine (Hunter) Caviness.  He was one of three sons and had a special bond with both of his brothers.  He grew up in Wichita and attended Arkansas Avenue Grade School.  
    Kenney made a career of Janitorial work, working for many schools and businesses throughout the years.  While working at Cessna Wallace, Kenney met Betty Brewer.  They quickly fell in love and were married in 1988.  They worked side by side for many years, lastly at Wellington High School, before retiring in 2003.  
    Kenney enjoyed moving so after retiring they lived in Danville, then Anthony, then Wichita, and eventually moved back to Anthony.
    Kenney was a Christian and had a great love for the Lord.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anthony. He loved old cars and always enjoyed watching and helping his brother Gary do restorations. Old western movies with Clint Eastwood were his favorites. Trips to Wichita to go shopping were something he always looked forward to.
    On August 23, 2020, Kenney passed away at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 76.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
    Kenney will be deeply missed by his wife, Betty; his son, Gary W. Caviness; two brothers: Gary Lee Caviness and Larry Dean Caviness; his First Baptist Church family; other relatives and many friends.
    Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Anthony with Pastor Warren Stanton officiating.  
    Memorials in memory of Kenney may be made to the Kenney Caviness Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
