Betty Clorene Jean “Susie” (Baxter-Deyoe) Sears was born January 14, 1934 in Burr Oak, Kansas. She was born to PH and Flora (Morman) Baxter. When she was 6 years old, she and her brother, Larry, were adopted by Isaac Henry and Anna Pearl (Williams) Deyoe. They lived on a farm near Attica, where she attended grade school and two years of high school. She enjoyed great adventures and learned many things living on the farm.

They lived in Attica, Sharon and Medicine Lodge, Kansas and in Arizona before eventually making their home in Anthony, Kansas where they managed the Anthony Motel. Susie and Bill were soul mates, truly loving one another and their life together. Bill passed away on May 1, 1991. Susie’s love for Bill continued on as she thought about him daily and always reminisced in all the wonderful memories they had made together.
