Mark Douglas Brooks was born May 22, 1959 in Monterey, California, son of Howard and Martha (Palmer) Brooks.
Mark enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany. After his discharge he lived in many places, including Abilene, Texas where he met Donna Goff in 2001 and they began seeing each other.
In 2003, Mark and Donna were blessed with their son, Matthew, and in 2007, their daughter, Maddison joined the family. On August 9, 2012, Mark and Donna were married in Anthony, Kansas.
Mark was a jack of all trades. Through the years he worked in the oil fields, as a farm hand, a heavy equipment operator, and as the manager of the Anthony Coop in Harper for many years.
Mark always enjoyed music, especially country and old rock-n-roll. He spent many nights strumming on his guitar, singing, and dancing with his children. He also liked camping and driving around the country, spending quality time with his son.
On October 4, 2021, Mark passed away peacefully at his home in Anthony, Kansas at the age of 62. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard, and his mother, Martha Parker.
Mark will be deeply missed by his wife, Donna; children: Matthew Brooks and Maddison Brooks; brothers: Tony Carlton and Steve Brooks and wife, Bobbi; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Memorials in memory of Mark may be made to the Kansas School for the Deaf and may be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
