Robert S. “Robby” Calderon

Robert Seth Calderon was born October 29, 1984 in Harper, Kansas, the youngest of three children born to Fredrick “Fred” and Tammy (Becker) Calderon.  He grew up in Anthony attending Anthony Elementary and Chaparral High School.

During high school he began working at the Anthony Farmers Coop as harvest help.  Following school, he worked off and on at the Coop through the years and was currently the Branch Manager at the Attica location.  In his off time from the Coop he learned the trade of welding from Jeff Hamill and Anderson Welding and also drove a truck for Kramer Trucking.  In recent years he had also started hot-shotting.

Robby was a shade tree mechanic.  He could often be found working on his latest project under the shade tree in his backyard.  He loved to buy, improve, and resale vehicles. His favorite project was keeping his flatbed dually running to hot-shot with.  

Robby was a quiet, shy man, but one who was always willing to show up and help when a friend or family member was in need.  He was called upon frequently to work on, repair, rebuild, or haul vehicles, derby cars, and trailers. 

Being a father was the most important role in Robby’s life.  He was so proud of his boys! He tried to give them a fun childhood filled with working on cars and teaching them the trade, shooting bb guns, and riding dirt bikes and on the forklift.  

On September 8, 2026, Robby passed away in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 41, after a brief battle with cancer.  He was reunited with his father, Fred and his dear friend, Jim “Jimbo” Poston.

Robby will be deeply missed by his sons: Kristian and Riley; his mother, Tammy Calderon; his sister, Mandy Calderon; his brother, Heath Calderon (Stasha); nephews and nieces:  Chandler Calderon (Sherrie), and their children, Colson, Benjamin, and Shiloh (their daughter on the way,) Jarrett Shelton and wife, Mia, Shaily Calderon (Blake), and Bryndle Calderon; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; his Coop family; and many friends.  

Funeral service was held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Revolution Fellowship Church in Anthony with Pastor Kent Olds officiating.  Burial followed in Forest Park Cemetery.

Memorials in memory of Robby may be made directly payable to the Robby Calderon Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.  The fund will be for Robby’s sons.
