David St. Clair

David Brian St. Clair passed away July 10, 2026 in Pearisburg, Virginia at the age of 67 years. He was born in Orange, California on March 25, 1959 to Lois Helm Morgan and Robert Allen St. Clair. His grandparents were John and Vernice Helm and great-grandparents were Gustaf Adolph and Rachael (Young) Koeppen of Attica. 

As a young child his family moved a lot and most of his elementary years were spent between California, Oregon and finally settling in Attica Kansas in 1968. During his high school years at Attica High School David was involved in sports, speech and the school newspaper. Norman Beck was his mentor and foster parent during this time. Norman was an important part of David’s life. After graduation in 1977 David joined the U. S. Air Force where he was active duty from 1977 to 1981, and then two years of the Air Force Reserves. Two children were born to him and his first wife: Justin (Amy) Loreg and Jennifer (TJ) Rausch. They divorced in the early 1980’s after which time he moved first to California, then Oregon and back to Oklahoma City to be closer to an uncle. There he lived with his wife Laina Buser until she passed away, and David moved to Virginia where he finished his life on this earth. He leaves his sisters:  Carla (Dale) Creitz and Lynda (Steve) Arnett. He has two Uncles Bill (Lynda) Helm of Bonita California, and Steve (Kay) Helm of Buhler, Kansas, many cousins, and friends who remember him from the days of Air Force life, truck driving, race car driving and the love he had for his horses and dogs. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and great grandparents, his Uncles: John Helm, Gary Helm, Tom Helm, Ray Helm, and aunts: Regina Helm Scott and Carolyn Helm Gagnebin. 

“And He shall raise you up on Eagles Wing’s. Bear you on the breath of dawn. Make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of His hand”.

Rest in peace dear brother. Private family graveside services with be determined at a later date.
