K. Kent Wilson, 80, passed away March 31, 2026, at the Anthony Community Care Center.
Kent was one of a kind—a man who never met a stranger or ran out of stories to tell. He lived with a sense of humor, a curiosity for life, and a knack for turning everyday moments into something memorable. He reminded those around him to have fun, keep learning, and not take life too seriously.
He had a deep love for horses, cowboys (yes, even the Dallas kind!), poker games, coin collecting, and an ice-cold beer. Throughout his life, he worked in plumbing and law enforcement, and later became a published author of two books. No matter the setting, Kent was always ready to tell a joke, share a story, or pass along one of his many tricks—especially to his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Travis Wilson, Nicole (Tony) Caceres, and Heidi (PJ) Ruxton; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Matt.
Kent leaves behind a lifetime of laughter and memories. He will be greatly missed, but it’s easy to imagine him somewhere beyond the pearly gates, already seeing old friends, making new ones and keeping them all entertained.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Forest Park Cemetery in Anthony, with Brandon Gerber officiating.
Memorials in memory of Kent may be made payable to Anthony Community Care Center and sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
