LD McClellan

Laurel Donnis “LD” McClellan II was born January 31, 1977 in Hays, Kansas, the first born to Laurel D. and Linda (Neptune) McClellan.   He grew up in Fredonia until moving to Kingman his freshman year.  He was active in 4H, FFA, showed cattle, loved 4-wheelers, and reloading ammunition.  He graduated from Kingman High School with the Class of 1995.  

He attended K-State University where he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Economics and Animal Science in 2000.

LD worked at 84 Lumber in Manhattan for a few years and then began traveling across the US refinishing hard wood floors/gymnasiums.  He later returned to his love of farming and ranching, settling in Kaw City, Oklahoma where he lived on and worked for Dobson Ranch, owned by a wonderful family that was very good to him.   

LD was proud member of the NRA. He was a Mason and enjoyed the brotherhood of the organization.  

On June 28, 2026, LD passed away at his home in Kaw City, Oklahoma at the age of 49.  He was preceded in death by his father, Laurel D. McClellan.  

LD will be forever missed by his mother, Linda McClellan; his sister, Tiffany Rinke and fiancé, Ron Zoeller; brother, Curtis McClellan and wife, Jacque; brother, Ashley McClellan; nieces and nephews: Janessa (Derrick) Baker, Dylan McClellan, Brian Zoeller, Rhody, Rowdy, Mazey, and Asher McClellan; other relatives and many friends.  

Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony, Kansas with Matt Busby officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of LD may be made directly payable to Kingman County 4H, Kingman FFA, or Kansas State University Foundation and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
