Linda A. (Shumaker) Culver was born at the Galloway Hospital in Anthony, Kansas on April 20, 1943 to Robert and Ruby (Baker) Shumaker of Attica, Kansas. She attended school in Attica.
Linda married Bobby Culver July 16, 1960 in Buffalo, Oklahoma. To this union was born a son, Tracy and a daughter, Lucinda.
Linda was a CNA at the Anthony Hospital for several years where she also trained her mother, Ruby in the nursing profession as well. Later she went to work for the Harper Hospital in the business office and was instrumental in establishing the purchasing department and held the purchasing/material manager position until retirement. Linda also worked at the Attica grain elevator in Duquoin, Kansas in the evenings after she got off work during the harvest season.
Linda enjoyed living in her country home with her faithful companion, Princess. She loved watching birds and other wildlife. She also enjoyed working in the yard and in her flower beds. She was a talented quilter and recently took up wool applique, which she enjoyed very much. Other hobbies included crafting and puzzles.
Following a long battle with cancer, Linda went to meet her Lord and Savior on May 27, 2026 at Patterson Health Center.
Linda is survived by her son, Tracy; 2 granddaughters; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, Alice; a very special friend, Inga Aldritt; and many others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruby; husband, Bobby; daughter, Lucinda; sisters, Loretta Babcock and Lilian Graves; and brother, Larry Shumaker.
Graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2026 at the Attica Cemetery. There will be no viewing or visitation.
