Ruth Bowersock

Ruth Bowersock was born October 20, 1938 on the family farm in Pana, Illinois, daughter of Earl Lester and Olive Janette (Lahr) Warner.  After graduating from high school, she attended college for a couple of years.  While living in Illinois she worked in real estate and as an accountant.  

She later followed her sister, Margie, to Harper County, Kansas where she met William Lewis Bowersock.  She and Bill married in 1981.  

Although Ruth never had children of her own, she had a close relationship with Lynn Dunaway, whom she treated like a son.  

She enjoyed her time on the Bowersock farm in Harper County, Kansas, on the land she and Bill purchased together, performing all the duties of a housewife, from cooking to filing the taxes.  

Ruth passed away on November 20, 2025 in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 87.  She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Katheryn.  

Ruth will be deeply missed by her husband, Bill; her brother, James Warner; sister, Margie (Harold) Seipel; extended family and friends.  

Funeral service was held 1:00 p.m. Monday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony with Pastor Kent Olds officiating.  Burial followed in Forest Park Cemetery.
